This post is going to be a controversial one. Not only because everyone is so darn sensitive nowadays, but also because sexy is relative. I feel the need to insert a little disclaimer. My intention is not to slut-shame anyone. If you wanna walk around naked, literally, by all means do you boo. I have nothing against people who wish to express themselves that way. The goal behind this post is to say that is not the ONLY way to feel sexy. I feel that social media, and our society as a whole has established a certain rhetoric, that, in order for women to be considered “sexy” according to society’s standards, we have to expose skin, I’m talking lots of skin, have a particular body shape(thank you Kylie Jenner) But i’m here to say “NO” to that. You absolutely do not need to be “naked” to feel sexy. Our young girls are growing up with exactly that mentality – sexy is showing ass, showing boobs, taking naked pictures, sex tapes, etc. The men also have to take a small amount of responsibility in this. We have been objectified in a way that is just outright disgusting but everything starts with you. You do not have to conform to society’s standards( who made these rules anyways?) or feel the need to dress or act in a particular way just to please someone.
CONFIDENCE IS KEY
I could end this post here and it’ll be enough. Because confidence, to me, is everything you need. You will feel sexy, if you feel confident. I have a post which you can access here giving some pointers on how to be confident. Go read that post before coming back here. If you are able to tap into that inner confidence as a woman, no one can objectify you, or make you feel inadequate. Rather than think of a determined standard of sexy, picture exactly what that means for you and decide on your own standard. A confident woman is a sexy woman. Have you never heard the phrase “confidence is sexy”?
LESS IS MORE | LEAVE SOMETHING TO THE IMAGINATION
My rule of thumb is to always pick one body part to show for every outfit. Get your minds out of the gutter let me explain. In one outfit you cannot possibly expose your thighs, legs, décolletage, cleavage, boobs, shoulders, or back. I always pick one. If that outfit shows my back, like the one in this post, I make sure everything else is covered. Or if it is an extremely short outfit, like this one here, I make sure my top part is fully covered. You don’t have to put it all out there-A very short skirt, with a crop top that has a deep V or plunging neckline, or an exposed back is a no for me. I’m dancing around this point trying to mince my words but I actually think letting everything hang out makes you look trashy. Sorry. You want to project class, not trash, unless trash is what you are going for.
BECAUSE THIS BLOG IS PREDOMINANTLY A FASHION BLOG LET’S TALK ABOUT USING FASHION TO LOOK SEXY
We all like the extra comfort flats give right? Oh I almost never leave my house without a pair. However, if you want to take a basic outfit to another level, add a pair of heels. Heels instantly make your feet look longer thereby making you look taller and slimmer. Any outfit when paired with heels naturally elongates your body and gives you better posture which is a major confidence booster. Pointy toe heels are even better to achieve these results.
THE RED LIP
I like my deeper toned lipsticks. But every time I wear a red lip, I feel extra sexy. There’s just something about the perfect red pout especially when you use a liner to achieve that deep v on the cupid’s bow.
The fabric of your clothes can either make or break them. It’s the most important thing I look for when shopping for clothing. There are certain fabrics that are considered “sexy” like lace, chiffon and silk. So if sexy is what you’re going for which is what we’re talking about in this post, go for those fabrics when shopping.
How do you tap into your inner sexy?
